There are essentially two ways to get married at Disneyland.
The first way is to go through the Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings department, which will allow you to have a formal event at one of the hotel or in-park locations.
The second way is what is commonly referred to as “rogue” weddings. This is when couples sneakily get married inside Disneyland, commonly using friends as the officiant and witness. Couples do this as a way to get married inside Disneyland without paying the price tag of an official wedding.
This website does not condone rogue weddings as they are essentially against the park rules. Under Prohibited Activities, section d, Disneyland prohibits the following: “Unauthorized events, demonstrations or speeches, or the usage of any flag, banner or sign for commercial purposes, or to incite a crowd.” Rogue weddings fall under the category “unauthorized events.”
Couples who are caught participating in a rogue wedding at Disneyland may be escorted out of the park and/or have their tickets or Annual Passes revoked.
I’ll admit when we first became engaged, I wondered if we could quickly and quietly elope at Disneyland. After doing my research I learned it was against the park rules and I immediately dismissed the idea. In my opinion it’s not worth the consequences for a rogue wedding.
Ultimately we had a beautiful wedding at the Rose Court Garden at The Disneyland Hotel and I wouldn’t have done it any differently.
